Elementary Remote Learning
The TDSB is transitioning to a Virtual Elementary School model for students in Grades 4 to 8, which is being phased-in over the next three years:
2026 - 2027: Grades 2 - 8
2027 - 2028: Grades 3 - 8
2028 - 2029: Grades 4 - 8
Eligibility Requirements for Remote Learning in the TDSB
All students who opt for remote learning must actively reside in Ontario throughout the year for the time of instruction. Students who apply will be required to make an in-person appointment to provide proof of residency in Ontario at the beginning of the school year. Students who do not provide proof of residency in person, will be demitted from remote learning. Students who move outside of Ontario during the school year will also be demitted from remote learning.
To develop the classroom community, enhance student engagement, and build connection with one another, students are expected to have their cameras on during class time. Students are expected to fully participate and attend class regularly.
Students who reside outside of the City of Toronto, whose home school board does not offer a remote learning option, may apply to attend Remote Learning in the TDSB through Out-of-Area Admissions. In the event of non-attendance, students will return to their home board.
