As the Trustee for our community of schools I regularly hold events that share information and provide opportunities for parents to learn and share from each other. These events are called Ward Forums. This school year there will be number of Ward Forums held for Ward 15 Toronto-Danforth. These meetings may be in person or virtual. Ward 15 PIAC Elections
Dear Ward 15 Parents, Guardians, Caregivers, School Councils, Student Councils, School Staff, and Community Members,
We are seeking the parents and guardians to vote for or be candidates for the Parent Involvement Advisory Committee (PIAC) Ward Representative – [2] Position for Ward [15]
ABOUT PIAC
The purpose of PIAC is to support, encourage and enhance parent engagement at the board level in order to improve student achievement and wellbeing. O. Reg. 330/10, s. 6. PIAC Ward Co-Representatives are advocates who:
- Provide information and advice on parent engagement to the TDSB;
- Communicate with and support school councils of schools; and
- Undertake activities to help parents of pupils of the board support their children's learning at home and at school.
DATE OF NOMINATION AND VOTER REGISTRATION PERIOD: May 14 to June 2, 2025
Parents who wish to nominate themselves as a candidate or vote in the election must register in advance by June 2, 2025, using the
DATE OF VOTING PERIOD: June 6 to June 16, 2025
Voting will take place online using ElectionBuddy, a secure and user-friendly online voting system. All registered voters will receive an electronic ballot by email, which will include the list of candidates and their bios/descriptions. A Meet-the-Candidates session will be held on June 6, 8, or 9, virtually or in person. Details will be shared directly with registered voters. Please note: Attendance at the Meet-the-Candidates session is optional and not required in order to vote.
