What to expect from the program

Classes are led by qualified instructors using the LINC Curriculum Guidelines, the Canadian Language Benchmarks, the Canadian Citizenship and Discover Canada resources. ÌýLesson planning and on-going assessment is guided by the Portfolio-based Language Assessment approach. ÌýBoth formal and informal assessments are real-world and task-based. ÌýStudent’s progress is supported and documented through evidence-based classroom work samples collected in the learner’s learning portfolio. ÌýProgress reports are issued at the end of each term (December, March and June) or at the completion of the CLB course. CLB progress is documented through LINC certificates issued in accordance with the certificate issuance policy.Ìý

Eligibility: Is this program right for you?

  • Be a Permanent Resident, a Protected Person, a Convention RefugeeÌý
  • Be at least 18 years oldÌý
  • Not be registered in a CLIC programÌý
  • Take a test at a Language Assessment CentreÌý
